POSITION SUMMARY:


Manages the personnel in the Voting Machine Department and is responsible for set-up, maintenance and delivery of voting machines and other essential equipment. Coordinates polling place changes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in the operation of voting machines.

  • Supervises and coordinates programming of voting machine as well as logic and accuracy testing.

  • Supervises and coordinates the assembly of election supplies for polling places.

  • Evaluates the performance of Voting Machine Mechanics.

  • Coaches/counsels employees as needed.

  • Suggests improvements to efficiently run the department.

  • Provides instruction and assistance to election officials.

  • Researches and contacts potential polling places, following Election Code requirements.

  • Assembles posting materials for polling place changes.

  • Attends and participates in Board of Elections meetings.

  • Orders parts, supplies and signage as needed.

  • Works with vendors to perform and track voting machine repairs.

  • Maintains voting machine inventory and warehouse configuration.

  • On Election Day coordinates the voting machine mechanic rovers.

  • Supervises Election Day phone bank regarding machine issues.

  • Resolves and tracks any Election Day problems (machine and polling place issues)

  • Assists with intake of Election Supplies.

  • Maintains accurate department records and files.

  • Works in conjunction with Board of Elections Office

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required; 5-10 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
