POSITION SUMMARY:

Administrative staff member that oversees all facilities (Bucks County Correctional Facility and Community Corrections Centers) and their efforts in regards to PREA compliance.  This is a full time position that reports to the Director of Corrections.  The PREA Coordinator has the authority to develop and implement policies and procedures that supports and complies with PREA standards.  Facilitates, coordinates, and provides administrative oversight to all areas of responsibility, to ensure compliance with PREA at all levels of the facility.  Directs PREA Compliance Manager as needed. This is a grant based position with possibility of a permanent position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main point of contact, internally and externally, for all PREA inquires.

  • Develops and reviews policy and procedure for facility compliance.

  • Reviews standards and completes pre-audit documentation.

  • Develop and update Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) as required.

  • Facilitate reviews, team meetings, and lead inspections to regularly review facility operations and programs are compliant with all standards.

  • Prepare documents and coordinate with all appropriate staff for regular audits.

  • Prepares reports and manages statistics. 

  • Directs all staff, including Administration team, regarding compliance efforts. 

  • Assist in preparation of the staffing plan.

  • Attends PREA training workshops, responds to inquiries, coordinates and conducts training for facility staff on PREA as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Must be able to pass extensive background investigation.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ experience in correctional setting preferred.  Will consider additional experience if no college degree. 

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • General knowledge and understanding of PREA.  Certified PREA Auditor is preferred.

  • Specialized PREA Investigations Training and other related courses preferred. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use tact and discretion for obtaining the cooperation and confidence of others.

  • Ability to work independently or in collaboration with others.

  • Must successfully complete the Department of Corrections’ security training classes.

  • Proof of professional liability insurance is required.
