POSITION SUMMARY:


Responsibility is to provide clean and sanitary bed linens and personal clothes to approximately 360 residents on 24 hour/365 days a year demand.  Mandatory compliance with all PA Long Term Care Regulations is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects and sorts dirty linen from units two times in an eight-hour shift.
  • Clean linens delivered to units daily.
  • Loads washers and dryers with linen daily.
  • Shakes sheets daily.
  • Monitors and changes chemicals as needed.
  • On a daily basis operates washers and checks their functions.
  • Cleans machines on a daily basis and signs off.
  • Keeps soiled linen poundage report.
  • Keeps machine poundage report.
  • Keeps water temperature report.
  • May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.More detailed instructions, as to the nature of their duties, will be given to employees at the beginning of work.
