POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the Director of Finance & Administration and the Deputy Finance Director on financial and budgetary matters and is responsible for carrying out a wide variety of assignments including the handling of confidential information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the preparation of the County budget and maintains various budget files.

Monitors departmental performance against budgets and advises of necessary changes to budgets.

Analyzes monthly revenues and expenditures and prepares report to the Deputy Finance Director.
-
Analyzes and forecasts revenues and expenditures.
-
Works closely with department fiscal personnel to properly account for accruals and deferrals.
-
Advises the Deputy Finance Director of problem areas.
-
Assists various County departments and agencies with individual problems.
-
Assists, advises and resolves accounting or functional problems.
-
Serves as liaison between Department Heads, Division Leaders and the Deputy Finance Director.
-
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree or four years of equivalent experience and training.

Budget experience necessary.

Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing and data base applications.

Ability to work effectively with County officials and departments.

Ability to handle complex budgetary situations without supervision.
-
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
-
Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
