Public Defender
Under Constitutional mandate, the Public Defender's Office represents indigent defendants in all phases of criminal defense, mental health, and domestic relations proceedings. This includes intake qualifications, representation at line-ups, in prison counseling, preliminary hearings, arraignments, trials, appeals, and before investigative grand juries. In addition, this office represents defendants in parole hearings, juvenile, patients in mental health proceedings, non-support cases, protection from abuse cases, paternity suits, and domestic relations cases.
