Vita Education Services is the lead adult literacy agency in Bucks County and the largest provider of education programs in the Bucks County Correctional Facilities.
Vita’s programs are available throughout the County and free to the public. These include basic literacy, GED/HiSET preparation, Family Literacy classes, and extensive programs in English as a Second Language (ESL).
Programs in the criminal justice system include Decisions for Living, a cognitive behavioral skills programs offered in the correctional facilities; Jobs Readiness; literacy and GED preparation; Decisions For Change for adults on probation or parole; and CareerLink® employment workshops.
Vita’s programs are taught by both professional instructors and well-trained volunteers.

Collaborative effort by DARE certified law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents, and community to offer an educational program in the classroom to prevent or reduce drug abuse and violence among children and youth; helps students recognize and resist many direct and subtle pressures that influence them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, inhalants, or other drugs, or to engage in violence; promotes bonding to family, school, and community; emphasizes strategies focusing on development of social competence, communication skills, self-esteem, empathy, decision making, conflict resolution, sense of purpose and independence, and positive alternative activities.
Police officers teach weekly classroom lessons in grades 5 or 6 with suggested extended activities that can be integrated into other instruction by the classroom teacher; includes parent education and parent outreach and support.

Half hour education program presented by senior volunteers about the misuse of prescribed and over-the-counter medication; free literature and other helpful items for participants; collaborative effort involving RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc., and TODAY, Inc.
