Commissioners Offer Support for “#HoldOnYouMatter” Walk to Fight Suicide Sunday, April 30 in Fairless Hills

April 30, 2017

The Board of Bucks County Commissioners is proud to partner in support of an upcoming Bucks County event to provide fundraising and awareness of suicide prevention. To that end, the commissioners encourage residents to participate in the Sunday, April 30 “#HoldOnYouMatter” Walk to Fight Suicide on the campus of the Bucks County Technical High School in Fairless Hills. The second annual walk, which includes participants from three new school districts, will support the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force in its efforts to raise awareness and prevent suicide.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to honor a loved one or friend lost to suicide, advocate mental wellness, and stand up against the stigma of suicide,” said Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW. “In addition, all of the money raised stays in Bucks County to fund efforts of suicide prevention.” Participating schools include Neshaminy District, Bristol Township, Pennsbury District, Bensalem District, Conwell-Egan Catholic High School, Centennial District, Palisades District, Pennridge District, Morrisville District and Bucks County Technical High School.
