County of Bucks to Assist With Two Electronic Recycling Collection Events in November

October 26, 2015

The County of Bucks will hold two events for the collection of old electronics in November. All computers, and other household electronics, contain some hazardous materials. Lead, mercury and zinc are just a few examples. These materials are toxic, and exposure to hazardous chemical compounds places people and the environment at risk for serious health problems now and will impact future generations. Anyone who discards certain types of e-waste improperly or places these items in the regular trash is breaking the law.

Due to the limited availability of recycling options, the County is pleased to be able to offer these collection events for residents through a partnership with the Quakertown Borough and Vintage Tech Recyclers for the Saturday, November 7 event, and with the F.D.R. Middle School and E-Waste Experts, Inc. for the Saturday, November 21 event. Please take special note of the different event hours:

Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Quakertown Community Pool
300 Mill Street
Quakertown, PA 18951

Saturday, November 21 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (Note Hours)
FDR Middle School
1001 Veterans Highway
Bristol, PA 19007

Vintage Tech Recyclers and E-Waste Experts are state permitted and fully licensed, bonded and insured e-waste companies that will ensure the electronics that are recycled are handled correctly. These companies focus on data security and green initiatives.

Cell phones, computers, laptops, televisions, radios, wires, cables, CDs, video games, microwaves and other household electronics
WILL be accepted. Items with Freon (air conditioners, refrigerators) are among the items that CANNOT be accepted. No household hazardous chemicals or paints will be accepted. Please see the official County website, www.BucksCounty.org, for additional information.

The program is for residents only; no material will be accepted from businesses, industry or institutions. For questions about this event, please contact Art Feltes, recycling coordinator for the County of Bucks, at 215-345-3414.
