County Health Department and Pennsylvania DEP To Spray Adult Mosquitoes September 1st In Bristol Township

August 28, 2015

The Bucks County Department of Health will conduct a joint mosquito spray in association with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) on Tuesday, September 1, in Bristol Township. The spray will include the Dogwood, Junewood, Greenbrook, Farmbrook and Kenwood sections of Bristol Township. The rain date for this spray will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one (1) ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.  The Pennsylvania DEP will also use their own equipment during this event.
