August 10, 2015

The Bucks County Department of Health in association with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Wednesday, August 12, weather permitting, in Warrington and Warminster townships.  The spray will commence at dusk, and will be limited to specific areas of the township. The rain date for the event will be Thursday, August 13.

The proposed roads technicians will treat in Warrington Township include Harvard Dr., Villanova Circle, Georgetown, Ln., Notre Dame Dr., Redstone Dr., Kansas Rd. from Garden Ave. to Redstone Dr., Woodstock Ave., Garden Ave., Bridle and Stirrup Lanes, Stallion Rd., Saddle Dr., Carriage Way from Bridal to Palomino Dr., Dapple Dr., Foal Cir., Falabella Cir., Connemara Dr., and Appaloosa Dr. from Dapple to Connemara.

In Warminster Township, Health Dept. technicians will spray Elmwood Ave., Ferry St., Craven St., Baird St., Adams Ave., Mercer St., as well as Sharon, Ulmar, Knight, Jamison, Luther and Tompkins streets.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one (1) ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
