County Health Department to Spray Adult Mosquitoes Monday, August 10 in Wrightstown Twp.

August 5, 2015

The Bucks County Department of Health in association with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Monday, August 10, 2015, beginning at dusk.  The area to be treated will be the Middletown Grange Fair grounds in Wrightstown Township. The 67th Annual Grange Fair will take place from Wednesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 16.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one (1) ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
