The Bucks County Department of Health in association with the PADEP will be conducting an adult mosquito spray on Friday 7/31 beginning at dusk. The spray will be conducted jointly in Bristol Township and Falls Township. The following areas will be sprayed: all of Birch Valley, all of Magnolia Hill and all of Holly Hill sections of Levittown.
The county will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side. There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification. The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of 1 ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
