County Health Department To Spray Adult Mosquitoes July 28 In Warminster Township

The Bucks County Department of Health in association with the PADEP West Nile Virus program will be conducting a mosquito spray on Tuesday evening 7/28 beginning at dusk, in Warminster Township.  There will be two areas sprayed.  Area one is bordered by: Mearns Road, West Bristol, Route 263 and West Street Road. The specific streets involved are as follows: Ciccone, Roberts, Violet, June, Tulip, Dahlia, Garden, Brookdale, Aster, Stub, Howard, Hilltop, Mueller, Marian, Mason, Phillips, and Strattford Roads.  Cheryl, Boxwood, Manor, Sturbridge, Brennan, Bellemeade, Olden, Twinstreams, Campus, Tennyson and Stout Drives. Brook, Spencer, Fisher, Arbor and Penrose Lanes, and Laurel and Orchard Avenues.

Area two is bordered by: Jacksonville Road, East County Line Road, Newtown Road, and East Street Road.  The streets to be sprayed in that area are as follows: Evans, Fenton, Grier, Hart, Jamison, Sharon, Ulmar, Knight, Potter, Ferry, Craven, Baird, Mercer, Walk, Yeates and Rush Streets. Downey, and Van Horn Drive, Deb, Ann, Paul, Luff, Lea, Hardman, Allen, and Barbara Lanes.  Florence and Elmwood Avenues.  Also, Syzmanek Park will be treated.

The county will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger  spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of 1 ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
