Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia Appointed to Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board

July 8, 2015

Bucks County Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW has been appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf to the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board. In that role, she will work with the board and community businesses to connect members of the workforce to the needs of local employers. The state board is comprised of business and elected officials from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“I am honored to accept this appointment,” Commissioner Marseglia said. “The Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board is an important way to develop and strengthen the workforce so that it meets the needs of business and industry.”

In Bucks County, the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board (BC-WIB) is one of 22 boards throughout the Commonwealth that came out of the 1998 Workforce Investment Act. It oversees the development of partnerships with employers, economic development and educational agencies and other programs to leverage all local resources available to the benefit of the local workforce.

“Many years ago Bucks County was a hub of manufacturing; while some of that still exists, today’s manufacturers and other industries require prepared and well-trained employees,” Commissioner Marseglia added. “Growing our economy and improving the financial stability of Bucks families rests on a well-trained workforce.”
