Bucks County Register of Wills Elected By Colleagues as Officer of Statewide Panel

DOYLESTOWN, PA – Bucks County Register of Wills, Don Petrille, was installed as Secretary of the Pennsylvania State Association of Elected County Officials, (PSAECO) at its monthly meeting on February 12, 2015.  The office is a high honor for the first term row officer.

Adamik (Treas., Adams) and P. Ross (Cor., Blair).PSAECO’s mission is to advise the General Assembly on legislation that affects county government.  It is made up of three representatives from every state row office association, including county commissioners, treasurers, controllers, recorders of deeds, coroners, prothonotaries, clerks of court, sheriffs and district attorneys.  The delegates represent leaders from every part of the state who have become experts on the functioning of county government.

“I’m honored to have the confidence of many experienced leaders from across our great state,” Mr. Petrille noted. “ I’m looking forward to helping this organization’s members effectively interact with the General Assembly, so that the voices of all Pennsylvania counties are heard when county legislation is passed.”

In 2015, PSAECO will be working with the General Assembly on bills involving county open records, a proposed assumption by the court system of certain row office duties and a comprehensive modernization of the county code.  During the February meeting, the group authorized correspondence be sent the legislature regarding supporting coroners’ medical investigations, protecting fiscal integrity of county pensions and continued issuance of doe licenses at the county level.
