The County of Bucks has prepared a study on the feasibility of establishing a trail along the Mill-Queen Anne-Black Ditch Creeks corridors, extending from Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown Township and Core Creek Park in Falls Township to the confluence of Mill Creek with the Delaware River at Bristol Marsh. The study:
- Identifies potential trail routes;
- Evaluates connections to existing parks and trails, town centers, recreational areas, historic sites, and commercial areas;
- Provides an estimate of probable costs to develop a trail; and
- Identifies implementation strategies.
Trails are extremely popular in Bucks County, and County residents, when surveyed, consistently rank trails as their highest priority for community improvements. The study, prepared by the Bucks County Planning Commission, will serve as a resource to the County and municipalities for grant applications and as a starting point for preliminary trail efforts.
The project was financed in part by a Federal Coastal Zone Management Grant, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) with funding provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Department of Commerce.
The study will be available for comment and review beginning Monday, November 17, 2014, on the Bucks County Planning Commission website.
Comments or questions regarding the study should be submitted to the Bucks County Planning Commission at firstname.lastname@example.org or via fax at 215-345-3886 no later than Monday, December 1, 2014.
