Veterans and Military Personnel are invited to the third floor of Parx Casino East, Thursday, October 2nd from 10 am to 2 pm for the “Salute 2 Service” Veterans Job Fair. Small local business as well as national corporations will be on hand doing promoting positions from entry level to middle management and above. On-site interviews will be performed for job openings within the next six months; visitors are encouraged to dress for success, bring updated resumes, and prepared to discuss skill sets and assets. Employers are looking for dedicated, trainable and mission focused employees.
The job fair will be featuring employers and careers that are a great match to military experience and service. Volunteer mentors and professional experts will be available for assistance, guidance, tips and post fair strategies. Learn how to utilize current resumes to interview for civilian opportunities and be matched with employers who are looking for the skills military and veterans possess.
In addition to the employers and mentors, representatives from the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Bucks County Department of Veterans Affairs will all be available to answer questions, get help filing claims for a service-connect disability, receive assistance with PTSD and start the enrollment for VA Healthcare.
Bucks County Veterans are also welcome to stop by the Veteran Discount ID Card booth. The ID card can be used at over 900 businesses in Bucks County and beyond for discounts on food, programs, car buying and more. Interested veterans must bring their original DD-214 form in order for the Recorder of Deeds staff to proceed with issuing the cards. Information about the program is available by calling 215-348-6209.
The “Salute 2 Service” Veteran Job Fair is sponsored by Parx Casino, the Bucks County Commissioners, Bucks County Veterans Affairs, PA Career Link, Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, Sam’s Club, Recruitment Queen, ESGR, Legal Shield and Minuteman Press.
