During a solemn morning event in the Bucks County Courthouse Memorial Courtyard, the Bucks County Commissioners were joined by employees, elected officials, judges and members of the public safety and first responder community for the 13th annual remembrance of September 11, 2001. The Commissioners paid homage to the 18 Bucks County residents who were victims of that unforgettable tragedy and stopped for a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. – the time when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in Manhattan. In addition, the ceremony featured a selection of songs performed by the Central Bucks West High School Choir and keynote speaker Kim DeTample, mother of Bucks County Hometown Hero Nathaniel DeTample.
