The Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will conduct a limited adult mosquito control spray in Warrington Township on Friday, August 8, 2014, beginning between 8:00-8:15 p.m. - weather permitting.
The areas of Warrington Twp. to be sprayed comprise the developments of Warrington Mews, Palomino Farms, Woodlands and Redstone Woods. Roads involved include Oxford Drive, Ted-Jim Drive, and Pileggi Road., as well as Suzann and Lisa Drives, Thomas, Joseph and Vincent Roads, Cambridge Lane and K. Street; Holly, Juneberry and Stapleton Roads; Palomino Drive, from Bristol Road to Greyhorse Drive as well as Crop, Bronco, Buckboard and Foal Circles, Morgan Horse, Dapple, Blackhorse, and Shetland Drives and Pinto Road; W. Street Road, Harvard Drive, Notre Dame Drive, Georgetown Lane and Villanova Circle; and Kansas Road, Taylor, Oak, Grady, Center and Bradford Avenues, Tabitha Drive, Wodock Lane and Creek Road.
The application chemical will be Masterline Kontrol 4+4, and will be released at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre. The spray will be conducted using a lead vehicle: a Ford Ranger pickup; and a spray truck: a 1997 Chevrolet pickup. Both vehicles bear County of Bucks identification on the vehicle side doors. The county Pesticide Applicator Number BU0107 will also appear on both vehicles. The spray will commence at dusk and conclude by 11 p.m.
According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
