The Bucks County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of residents receiving phone calls from subjects identifying themselves as members of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. The callers state that the person receiving the call would have a warrant issued for them if they didn’t purchase bonds. The callers have asked for a credit card number and provided the victim with a phone number and a location to pick-up the bonds. When the victim proceeded to the location to pick up the bonds, the address did not exist. The phone number provided was not affiliated with the Bucks County Sheriff’s office. All information has been provided to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for investigation.
Bucks County Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly advises residents that the Sheriff’s office does NOT call people regarding the existence of warrants. The Bucks County Sheriff’s Office also does NOT solicit money or collect money regarding any type of warrant, for any reason. These phone calls are being conducted by scam artists who are in no way connected to the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office.
