Bucks County Sheriff’s Office Launches Cell Phone Collection Program to Assist Seniors

January 10, 2014

Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly is pleased to announce a new initiative, “Cells for Seniors,” to provide Bucks County’s older residents with cell phones to make emergency calls to 9-1-1. The Sheriff’s office is now collecting old or unused cell phones and chargers, and has set up collection sites at three county facilities. Each donated phone will be wiped out by the Sheriff’s office and then handed out to local seniors to call 9-1-1 only.

Those who are interested in contributing to the program can place their donated items in a Ziploc bag and drop them off in one of the designated collection bins at the following locations:

Upper Bucks Government Services Center

261 California Road, Quakertown

Lower Bucks Government Services Center

7321 New Falls Road, Levittown

Bucks County Courthouse (2nd Floor Lobby)

55 East Court Street, Doylestown

You can also give donations to any Sheriff Deputy. For additional information, please contact Sergeant Joe White, program administrator, at 215-348-6288 or jawhite@co.bucks.pa.us.
