County Health Department to Spray Adult Mosquitoes Wednesday September 11 in Northampton Township

The Bucks County Department of Health West Nile Virus Program will conduct a limited adult mosquito control event on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, weather permitting. This spray is a response to high counts of West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes found in these areas.  The spray will commence at dusk.

The area to be sprayed will be Big Meadow Park in Northampton Township.  The treatment area will also include the following; Mustang, Saratoga, Appaloosa and Furlong Courts, Appaloosa Trail, Dover Place and Paddock Way.  

The application chemical will be Duet, to be applied using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 ounce per acre. One truck will be used, a green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side. There will be a lead truck, a Ford Ranger pickup also with a county seal. Additional equipment will be used as needed.
