The Bucks County Department of Health West Nile Virus Program will conduct a limited adult mosquito control event on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, weather permitting. This spray is a response to high counts of West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes found in these areas. The spray will commence at dusk.
The area to be sprayed will be Guinea Lane Park in Warwick Township. The treatment area will also include the following Doylestown Township drives: Scarlet Oak, Pebblewoods, Glen, Woodview, Sandywood, Hillcrest, Shady Springs, Pebble Valley, Water Crest, Pine View, Valley Green, and Deer Path. The following lanes in Doylestown Township will be included as well: Southwoods, Poplar, Lenape, Hillside, Sherwood, Pebble View, Northwoods, Woodcrest and Robyn, in addition to the following roads: Houch and Pheasant.
The application chemical will be Duet, to be applied using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 ounce per acre. One truck will be used, a green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side. There will be a lead truck, a Ford Ranger pickup also with a county seal. Additional equipment will be used as needed.
