County Health Department to Spray Adult Mosquitoes August 22 in Sellersville and Perkasie Boroughs

The Bucks County Department of Health West Nile Virus Program will conduct a limited adult mosquito control event on Thursday August 22, 2013, in Sellersville and Perkasie Boroughs. The spray will commence at dusk.

The area to be sprayed will be all of Lenape and Menlo Parks and the bike path through these parks from Main Street in Sellersville to Callowhill Road in Perkasie Borough.

The application chemical will be Duet, to be applied using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 to one ounce per acre. The truck to be used will be a green Chevrolet with the County of Bucks seal on the side. There will also be a Ford Ranger pickup, an ATV and a backpack sprayer in use depending on the terrain encountered.

This spray will be conducted weather permitting. The rain date for this event is Friday, August 23, 2013.
