The Bucks County Department of Health West Nile Virus Program, in association with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) West Nile Virus Program, will conduct a limited adult mosquito control event on Wednesday July 24, 2013, weather permitting. The spray will commence at 7:45 p.m. The area to be sprayed will be a portion of Croydon in Bristol Township.
The borders of the Croydon spray area will be Neshaminy State Park to the south, Route 413 to the north, the Delaware River to the east and Route 13 to the west. Technicians also will treat the following streets by the Delhaas Woods: Balfour, Bowman, Mayfair, Lois, Glenrich, Butler, Brookside, Century and Green avenues and Winton Drive and Circle, and Laurel Drive.
The application chemical will be Duet, to be applied using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 to one ounce per acre. The trucks to be deployed for the spray will be a green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side as well as a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck, also bearing the county seal.
