Donald Petrille Recognized By Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association of Pennsylvania
Appointed to Legislative Committee

Bucks County’s Register of Wills, Donald Petrille, Jr., has been appointed to the Legislative Committee of the Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association of Pennsylvania for 2012-2013.  Comprised of various members from Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, the association promotes greater efficiency in the administration of Register of Wills offices and Orphans’ Courts across the state and legislation for the general benefit and welfare of these offices and residents of Pennsylvania.

The appointment to the Legislative Committee is a high honor for Mr. Petrille, who first took office in January, 2012.  It is reflective of the energy and enthusiasm Mr. Petrille has brought to both the Register of Wills office and Orphans’ Court in his first year, and the respect he has earned from his fellow Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court for Pennsylvania’s 66 other counties.

“This appointment will allow me the opportunity to express the concerns of residents of Bucks County and Southeastern Pennsylvania on how pending legislation will affect probate, adoptions and estate administration,” said Mr. Petrille.  “The Legislative Committee interacts and educates the legislature on issues it will vote on that affect all Pennsylvanians.”

The Register of Wills’ principal duties include the probate of wills and the acceptance of filed documents necessary to complete the administration of a decedent’s estate.  As Clerk of Orphans' Court, the office serves as the filing office and custodian of records for matters involving adoptions, guardianships and estate litigation.  It also issues all marriage licenses in the county.  For additional information, please visit www.BucksCounty.org.
