Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office to Offer Veterans Discount Cards at Bristol Senior Center Feb. 17
Since debuting in November, 2011, the Bucks County Veterans ID Discount Card program has processed more than 1,600 cards for county veterans. The program, which prior to last month was available only at the Recorder of Deeds office on the second floor of the Bucks County Courthouse, will be offered from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, February 17. The event will be held at the Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Rd., Bristol, 19007.
“Last month, we issued 48 cards at the Ottsville Volunteer Fire Company in Ottsville, and the response was extremely positive. We are excited to offer our veterans and active duty heroes the opportunity to have their cards processed in other Bucks County municipalities,” stated Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Joseph J. Szafran Jr., whose staff administrates the program.
Interested veterans must bring their original DD-214 form in order for the Recorder of Deeds staff to proceed with issuing the cards. Information about the program is available by calling 215-348-6209.
To date, more than 50 Bucks County businesses have agreed to offer substantial veterans discounts (5-20 percent on merchandise and services) to those holding the Bucks County Veterans ID card. To register a business to participate in the Veterans ID Card Discount Program, please call Betty Carleo in the county Veterans Affairs office at 215-345-3885 or visit www.BucksCounty.org to fill out a form stating intent to take part. A list of participating businesses is available on the county website, as well.
