Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office to Offer Veterans Discount Cards June 7 in Warminster Twp.
Since its launch in November, 2011, the Bucks County Veterans ID Discount Card program has processed more than 4,000 discount cards for county veterans – a milestone that was achieved last week. The program, initially available only at the Recorder of Deeds office on the second floor of the Bucks County Courthouse, has been offered at various locations throughout the county since late January. The program will be available from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, at the Ben Wilson Senior Center in Warminster Township (580 Delmont Ave.).
“We will continue reaching out to our veteran community, which is one of the largest in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” stated Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Joseph J. Szafran Jr., whose staff administrates the program. “The response to the program continues to be strong.”
Interested veterans must bring their original DD-214 form in order for the Recorder of Deeds staff to proceed with issuing the cards. Information about the program is available by calling 215-348-6209.
To date, more than 180 Bucks County businesses have agreed to offer substantial veterans discounts (5-20 percent on merchandise and services) to those holding the Bucks County Veterans ID card, and more are signing up to participate each day. To register a business to participate in the Veterans ID Card Discount Program, please call Betty Carleo in the county Veterans Affairs office at 215-345-3885 or visit www.BucksCounty.org to fill out a form stating intent to take part. A list of participating businesses is available on the county website, as well.
