Bucks County Declares Six-Night “Code Blue” Weather Alert Through Wednesday, February 10

In addition to the anticipated winter storm, the National Weather Service predicts temperatures that will fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit tonight through next Wednesday, February 10. In advance of the storm and ensuing freeze, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a “Code Blue” declaration for the next six nights. The EMA has made arrangements with the on-call church, United Christian Church in Levittown, to remain open through Wednesday night, February 10. The on-call church will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.

County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They advise residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions. County residents are also urged to check on their elderly neighbors during this period of frigid weather.
