County Agencies Participate in “Here to Help” Community Resource Fair
Five Bucks County offices were on hand to assist residents with matters ranging from health care to business development to senior issues during the June 4 “Here to Help” Community Resource Fair at Bristol Township’s Bucks County Office Center. The county quintet included the Consumer Protection office, the Youth Center, the Community and Business Development office, the Health Department and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA).
The fair, which featured a total of 40 community and social services agencies, training providers and government assistance programs, was designed as a one-stop shop for vital services within the current economy. It was coordinated by the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the PA CareerLink Bucks County office. Occupational training and unemployment options were prominent at the event’s interactive display tables. Many of the county’s non-profit assistance agencies, such as the Bucks County Opportunity Council, also were on hand.
“We encourage all residents to take advantage of the many services and assistance options that are available through our county offices,” notes Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin. “Our employees are available to help, and we take pride in the depth of our community involvement for individuals of all ages.”
Chairman Martin also encourages residents to seek a wide array of information about services on the official county Web site, www.BucksCounty.org. All of the offices that were represented at the “Here to Help” fair have prominent links on the Web site.
