Commissioners Honor Earth Day Every Day Poster Contest Winners

Earth Day Poster Contest WinnersContinuing an annual tradition, the Bucks County Commissioners, Chairman Charles H. Martin, Jim Cawley and Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, honored the 13 grade-level grand- prize winners of the 2009 Waste Management/Newspaper in Education “Earth Day Every Day” Poster Contest April 15 inside the Delaware Valley College Farmers Market.

Following an introduction by Chairman Martin, Waste Management Community Relations Coordinator Geri Thompson announced the winners. According to Mrs. Thompson, more than 52,000 Bucks County students have participated in the contest since its inception. Each of this year’s winners received a gift bag, a $50 gift certificate, and will have their original poster reproduced in the annual Earth Day calendar. 

“We extend our congratulations to all of the contest winners. We are impressed with the creative talents these young artists from around Bucks County have shared through this venture,” Chairman Martin noted.
