Fostering Holiday Spirit: Bucks County Employees Step Up To Fulfill Christmas Wishes For Children & Youth Community

Each December, as part of a Bucks County Courthouse holiday tradition, members of the Bucks County government workforce and the public are encouraged to help the county’s foster-child community. After selecting a youngster’s name and holiday wish list from a Christmas tree located in the second-floor lobby, participants shop for that child and return the gifts to the Commissioners’ Office of Public Information in time for a holiday delivery.

This year’s wide array of purchases included gift cards, children’s educational toys, books, games and other items including a suitcase and a very special sock monkey. Ultimately, every card on the tree found a willing sponsor.

Before the items were transported to the Children & Youth Social Services Agency for distribution by individual caseworkers today, Commissioners Charley Martin and Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia surveyed the large array of gifts.

“We are extremely pleased with this year’s response from our Bucks County colleagues and members of the community,” Commissioner Martin noted. “This gift-giving program is an opportunity for us to support the youth we serve on a daily basis.”
