County Bridge 151 (Silo Hill Road Bridge) Closed For Repairs

As a result of structural damage caused by a tractor trailer exceeding weight limits, the Silo Hill Road Bridge, a county-owned structure, is now closed for repairs until further notice. The bridge, located in Plumsteadville on Silo Hill Road between 611 and Curly Hill Road, has a 6-ton weight limit. The truck crossing the bridge this morning is estimated at 32 tons.

Bucks County Emergency Services Director John Dougherty has notified 911 of the closure. They will in turn notify area first responders to plan for alternate routes.  The county Public Works Department is currently coordinating a long-term detour plan with the township and PennDOT. Plans are expected to be announced later this week.

The county owns 115 bridges stretching from Bensalem to Springfield townships.
