Bucks County Health Dept., Pennsylvania DEP to Conduct Mosquito Spray August 21 in Bristol Twp.
Event to Take Place Tomorrow Evening, Weather Permitting
On the evening of Thursday, Aug. 21, the Bucks County Health Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be conducting an ultra-low volume mosquito adulticide spray in two portions of Bristol Twp.
The first area to be treated will be in Margo Gardens and Winder Village between New Rodgers Rd. and Bath Rd. It includes Bath Rd., Brookside Ave., Eugene Dr., Murray St., Fayette Dr., Bayard St., Broad St. and Merlin St.
The second area will involve Edgely between Edgely Ave. and Green Ln. It will include Runway Rd., Hartel Ave.., Woodside Ave., Airport Rd., Green Ln. Hardy St., Hanford St., and Manning Blvd.
The treatment, which will take place weather permitting, is a public-safety measure resulting from high populations of adult mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus.
Both DEP and Bucks County Health Dept. officials will be conducting the spray using ATV and truck-mounted spraying equipment with the business license 2626 for the DEP, and BU 0107 for the Health Dept. The product to be used will be Biomist 3+15 applied at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre.
