Bucks County Health Dept., Pennsylvania DEP to Conduct Mosquito Spray August 12 in Bristol Twp.
Ultra-low Volume Operations to Commence at 8 p.m., Weather Permitting
At 8 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 12, the Bucks County Health Department, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will be conducting an ultra-low volume mosquito adulticide spray in portions of Bristol Twp. and Neshaminy State Park. During this operation, both residential and recreational areas will be treated to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.
The four-hour treatment, which will take place provided that weather and environmental conditions remain suitable, is a public-safety measure resulting from high populations of adult mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus.
The area to be sprayed is bordered by Bristol Pike to the north, Neshaminy Creek to the west, Rte. 413 to the east, and the Delaware River to the south. It also includes Coventry Ln., Magnolia Ave., Sycamore Ave., Princess Ave., Main Ave., State Rd., Miller Ave., Maryland Ave., Summit Ave., Cedar Ave., and China Ln.
Both DEP and Bucks County Health Dept. officials will be conducting the spray using ATV and truck-mounted spraying equipment with the business license 2626 for the DEP, and BU 0107 for the Health Dept. The product to be used will be Biomist 3+15 applied at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre.
