Clerk of Courts Mary Smithson Sworn In As Executive Committee Member of Pa Association of Prothonotaries and Clerks of Courts

Mary Smithson is sworn in by Judge HecklerDuring a morning ceremony inside the Doylestown Courthouse Courtroom No. 6, President Judge David W. Heckler administered the oath of office to Bucks County Clerk of Courts Mary K. Smithson to certify her election to the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Association of Prothonotaries and Clerks of Courts.

“It is a privilege and an honor to be elected as a member of the executive committee of the State Association of Prothonotaries and Clerks of Courts,” said Mrs. Smithson, who has served as Bucks County Clerk of Courts since January, 1996. “I look forward to ongoing cooperative efforts with legislative and judicial processes issues including criminal and civil rules procedures throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

The mission of the Clerk of Courts office is to provide a wide range of services to the public, judicial systems, county government and other agencies. Employees, in performing their constitutional and statutory duties, are committed to operation in a fair, helpful and efficient manner. This mission is accomplished by maintaining high professional standards through employee training and technology optimization.
