Bucks County Area Agency on Aging Offers Farmers Market Nutrition Program for Seniors

The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, is offering the Farmers Market Nutrition Program to older adults in Bucks County.  The program provides $20.00 in FREE vouchers to individuals and $40.00 for couples, for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets. The program will be administered through the 13 senior community centers listed. The vouchers will only be distributed from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Fridays while supplies last and will only be distributed at designated senior centers.

To be eligible, recipients must be a resident of Bucks County and be age 60 or older. In addition, income for individuals must be $19,240 or less, and $25,900 or less for couples. You will be required to show proof of residence and age. Please visit one of the senior centers listed to register. If you are unable to go to a senior center, a relative or friend may register for you by providing proper identification and a completed Proxy form, signed by the recipient. Proxy forms are available on the Area Agency on Aging Web page on the county Web site or may be picked up at the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, 30 E. Oakland Ave., Doylestown, or at the Lower Bucks Government Services Center, 7321 New Falls Road, Levittown. Proxy forms, as well as a listing of participating farmers markets, are available at all senior centers.
