Small Flow Sewage Treatment Facilities
The Department engineering staff evaluate the technical correctness
and consistency with local Act 537 Plans of all submitted Small Flow
Sewage Treatment Facility Modules. After approval by the PA DEP,
EPS staff inspect the initial installation, and respond to complaints
for malfunctioning systems. The Department annually monitors the
maintenance reports for the owners of the Small Flow Sewage Treatment
Facility Systems. Noncompliance with the operation and maintenance
procedures leads to violation notices and potential fines.
