Program Coordinator
The Department investigates all written complaints (form SA-2) regarding
public health nuisances on diverse items such as individual sewage
discharges, decaying matter, garbage and refuse and will take appropriate
enforcement action. These complaints will be investigated in accordance
with "Rules and Regulations Relating to Public Health Nuisances." Complaints
can be written on a form, or by letter. Complaints should
be mailed either to the Main Office or to the nearest District
Office.
The Department investigates reports of solid waste dumping and,
if confirmed, will forward the complaint to PA DEP Solid Waste Management
Division for follow-up action in accordance with their Solid Waste
Program.
Department activities also include consultations such as helping
homeowners needing information on water-sample analyses, providing
water-sampling kits, general water problems, and technical information
on types of disinfection. Information on how to obtain water-sampling
kits can be obtained by calling the nearest District Office.
