Roth,
B.S., S.E.O., Epidemiological Team Coordinator
The Department program to protect residents of Bucks County from
spread of disease is a cooperative program between the Bureau of
Personal Health and the Division of Environmental Sanitation of the
Bureau of Environmental Health. An epidemiological team (Epi-Team)
comprised of epidemiologists and public health nurses, investigates
incidents of reported food borne and waterborne diseases as well
as diseases of unknown causes and situations requiring an immediate
response.
The Division of Environmental Sanitation members of the Epi-Team
conduct inspections, collect field data, conduct educational meetings,
and lend technical expertise. Each district office has an Epi-Team
ready to respond to reported food or waterborne disease occurances.
The Division of Environmental Sanitation provides knowledge of current
concepts and developments necessary for the prevention and investigation
of food or waterborne disease occurrences.
