SUMMARY: Responsible for applying the principles of accounting to provide financial controls for the implementation and maintenance of general ledgers, journals and required reports concerning all activities and the general accounting and auditing duties related to the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Administers approved accounting procedures.
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and control of all accounts that include the supervision of all computer adjustments and reconciling statements.
  • Records daily transactions, maintains accurate and concise records and files for all statistical information.
  • Responsible for quarterly statistical and collections reports.
  • Posts accounts payable and receivable as computer software requires.
  • Prepares necessary worksheets for payroll reporting, budget presentations and other special projects as required.
  • Reconciles cash on hand to bank statements when necessary.
  • Performs related duties as may be assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis on business and/or mathematics.
  • Requires a strong background and experience in bookkeeping (minimum of three year’s experience).
  • Must be able to work with little direction and work effectively with the public and other offices.
