POSITION SUMMARY
:

As assigned, collects and records property data for all classes of Bucks County’s residential property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Appraiser who is responsible for review of property data and residential valuations.
  • Inspects interiors of buildings and additions and records information on property record card.
  • Measures and inspects exterior of buildings and additions.
  • Records sketch and dimensions of buildings and additions on property record card.
  • Gathers cost and sale information and records on property record card.
  • Maintains production records of work performed.
  • Employee will be expected to attend and complete appraisal courses sponsored by Pennsylvania Assessor’s Association and achieve Pennsylvania statutory designation of Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator (C.P.E.), within three (3) years.
  • Works outside with exposure to the elements.
  • After four (4) years of employment and designation of Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator (C.P.E.), employee may be considered for Appraiser II classification.
  • May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to converse intelligently with the public and establish and maintain good public relations; understand instructions; possess good judgment, accuracy, integrity, pleasing personality; and be in good physical condition.
