POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides administrative support to Planning Commission staff and Administrative Assistants, assistance to the public, and reception responsibilities for all departments occupying Building G.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of clerical tasks including telephone and visitor screening; types and composes correspondence; files; performs mailings; photocopies; and information to the public.
  • Screens and refers telephone calls and visitors to proper individual or other county agency, answers routine questions, takes and relays messages to staff.
  • Desktop Publishing and Word Processing – produce various department documents, pamphlets, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Spreadsheets that may include charts and graphs.
  • Database – designs and maintains various databases.
  • Maintains office supply inventory.
  • Provides oversight and continued operation of office equipment.
  • Performs purchasing functions using the county’s Lawson System.
  • Maintain documents and records for library.
  • May be required to attend and assist in hosting meetings or events and take minutes of meetings.
  • May be required to relieve other staff during lunch period.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

•              High school diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

•              Knowledge of Business English, spelling and arithmetic.

•              Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and or equivalent experience.

•              Must possess basic telephone etiquette.

•              Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

•              Typing skills – minimum 45 wpm.

•              Work hours 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
