Brian Hessenthaler

Brian Hessenthaler, COOBrian Hessenthaler was appointed chief operating officer on April 21, 2010, by the commissioners in an unanimous showing of support. (For more information, read "Langhorne’s Brian Hessenthaler Named COO: Lynn Bush Becomes Chief Clerk") Among other tasks, he is responsible for all daily governmental affairs.

Mr. Hessenthaler serves as the facilitator between the commissioners and the division leaders and row officers, as well as various Boards and Commissions. He is responsible for the day to day operations of government, over which the commissioners exercise final responsibility. His directed and stated goals are to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of county government functions while containing the cost to the taxpayers.

Brian Hessenthaler, who joined the county in 2004, was the Director of the Bucks County Finance and Administration Division from June 2004 to his appointment as COO. He previously worked at Better Materials Corporation for 21 years, the last 14 holding the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Hessenthaler is also highly involved in the community, active in the Langhorne Athletic Association and St. Andrew's CYO sports. He is also a member of the Langhorne Athletic Association Board of Directors, and coaches soccer, basketball and baseball.

Brian Hessenthaler, CPA, is a graduate of Bloomsburg University and received his MBA from Philadelphia University. He resides in Langhorne with his wife and two children.
