How to Apply For a Concealed Carry License in
the County Of Bucks

You will need:

  • $20.00 As of 08/06/18 Visa and Mastercard will be accepted (along with Cash) in the Doylestown and Levittown offices only. There will be a 2.8% Service Charge for use of the Credit Cards. The Quakertown office remains Cash only.
  • Valid Pennsylvania ID or Driver’s license with your Bucks Co. address on it. We do not accept temporary DL.
    • If you have moved you must present your PA yellow update card
    • If your PA ID, Driver’s license or PA Update Card was issued in the last 6 months, you must have 2 utility bills. 
    • Utility bills that are accepted:
      • Mortgage statement, water/sewer bill, electric bill, cable bill, lease or gas bill.
  • Completed Application – make sure all blocks are filled in
    • ID/Driver’s license number
    • Birth date
    • City/State or City/Country you were born
    • Last 4 of your social security number
    • Sex and race
    • Height and weight
    • Color of hair and eyes
    • Physical address
    • Home or cell phone number
    • Complete employer’s info.  example: stay at home mom, retired or occupation
    • Complete home addresses and phone numbers for references
      • References cannot be related to you, cannot live with you, and cannot be related to each other or live with each other.
  • Answer all questions, sign and date application

ALL NON-CITIZENS, MILITARY (that do live in Bucks Co. but are stationed here), REVERSALS AND NON-RESIDENTS OF PA MUST APPLY IN DOYLESTOWN SHERIFF’S OFFICE.

If applicant is a permanent resident alien or a resident alien, they must submit alien registration card (original), 90 days proof of residency (immediately prior utility bills). Also, resident aliens must provide a valid hunting license.

If applicant has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor one, a felony charge, crime of violence, drugs or any misdemeanor that is domestic related, they will be denied a permit to carry in the Commonwealth of PA.

Reversal applicants need to bring letter from State Police stating the reversal.

BUCK’S COUNTY ONLY ACCEPTS APPLICATIONS FOR NON-RESIDENTS THAT LIVE IN A STATE THAT HAS RECIPROCITY AGREEMENTS WITH PENNSYLVANIA AND HAVE A CARRY LICENSE WITH NO RESTRICTIONS FROM THE STATE THAT THEY RESIDE IN.

Permits:

  • $20.00 License (Residents in Bucks County)
  • $20.00 License (Residents out of state)

The Sheriff’s office has forty-five days to issue or deny a license. All efforts will be made to issue the license as soon as the background check is approved.

You must apply in person - mail in applications are not accepted.

Application for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms

Applications are available at the following offices:
NOTICE: All locations will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Please be in the office prior to 2:45 pm, or wait until the next scheduled business day (Monday, November 26, 2018 for Doylestown and Levittown and Wednesday, November 28, 2018 for Quakertown). Thank you

Beginning Monday, April 30, 2018 Carry Licenses will be issued the same day if approved at this location.
Please note: In case of closure, Weapons License services provided by the GSCs can be performed in Doylestown.

Carry Licenses at this location are accepted on Wednesdays only.
