The Office of the Clerk of Courts

  • Clerk of Courts will be open during regular hours with limited staff; however, appointments are necessary.
  • Please limit visitors to the one person who needs assistance (do not bring others with you).
  • Our priority will be documents related to the limited matters being handled by the court.
  • Payments should be made by mail or on-line if possible.
  • Cash payments for bail and fines/costs/restitution are discouraged.

Bail Posting

Bail can be posted at the Clerk of Courts Office, located at 100 North Main Street Doylestown in the Bucks County Justice Center between regular business hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm, excluding Holidays.

Posting bail at the Correctional facility

  • Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am
  • Saturday/Sunday and Holidays: 24 hours

Type of Payments Accepted

  • Only Cash or Official Bank Check is accepted for posting bail.
  • To post real estate as collateral, you need to provide the following information: Certified Copy of an Appraisal of your real estate, certified copy of a Title Search and a copy of your deed. Your home must have equity equal to the full amount of the bail.

Bail Refund

Bail money may be applied to court costs when authorized by the defendant or surety. 

Any refund due will be mailed within 20 days of final disposition (final disposition includes the 30 day appeal period).
