Spring/Summer 2015 Special Events

Earth Day Celebration! Free Event! 
Join Middletown, Newtown, Bristol, and Falls Townships, Levittown GOAL, Bucks County Parks and Recreation and other Bucks County communities on Saturday, April 25th at 10:00 am to celebrate Earth Day 2015! Many activities will be featured including entertainment, "green" businesses, new ideas for the environment, nature centers, herb sale, and so much more. Everyone will be helping us "think green" and manage our carbon footprints. Help keep the Earth beautiful! Rain or shine!

Kid's/Father's Day Fishing Derby

Giveaways! Prizes! Awards!
All these can be yours when you participate in this annual Catch and Release Fishing Derby for Children ages 5 to 15 years in four age categories. This event to be held rain or shine: June 21, 7:30 to 11:45 am  Peace Valley Park: Sailor's Point, New Galena Rd., New Britain

Pre-registration is required before June 10th; the first 100 registered get a free "goodie" bag. The fee is $7/child or $13/family of two or more children. No refunds; make checks payable to Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation Department and mail to: 425 Wells Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.

Bring a bucket, bait, fishing pole, net and barb-less hooks. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a parent or adult 18 years or older. Free Family Fishing Programs
Looking for a great way to connect with your family this spring? Discover just how much fun fishing can be when you do it together at a PA Fish and Boar Commission's Family Fishing Program. Learn basic fishing skills like knot tying, casting, bating the hook and taking a fish off the hook. You and your family will have opportunity to fish - no fishing license required! All equipment provided. The catch??? Adults must bring a child and children must bring an adult. You'll be learning and fishing together. Please provide your own lunch, snacks and hydration for the day. Participants must register for this program at the  PA Fish and Boat Commission's website www.fishandboat.com. Look at the online web calendar on the home page for the registration page. Do not use the Pathways Registration Form

Junior Fishing Camps
Kids will explore locations which offer different fish habitats and water ecosystems. Visits may be made to Lake Towhee, Lake Nockamixon, Tohickon Creek, the pond behind Weisel Hostel and other locations, weather and water levels permitting. Bring your own fishing gear, snacks and sunscreen. Instructor supplies hooks, bobbers and bait. Participants will fish at a different location each day in upper County parks. Register on page 27 of the 2015 Spring/Summer Pathways.

 Ages: 9-14 years, as of July 1
 Limits:  Min: 9, Max: 16
 Course #/ Dates: #1043 - July 13-17 9 am to noon
#1044 - Aug. 10-14 9 am to noon

Inaugural Bucks County Dragon Boat Festival
Join Businesses, organizations, friends and families from throughout the region as they come together on Saturday, September 19, 2015 for the inaugural Bucks County Dragon Boast Festival. Produced by Bucks County Dragon Boat Association and presented by St. Mary's Medical Center, this festival offers a day of fun, culture and competition with the goal of "paddling out hunger" in the region. 

Anyone can enter a team. Organizations, clubs, family can form a team to compete in this event. Each team must have between 18-24 paddlers. No prior experience necessary.
