A Force for Positive Change - Adult Probation

Bucks County Adult Probation and Parole

Q. What does this protocol mean to you if you are on probation or parole? If you are a Survivor? If you are an interested member of the community?

A. This translates to specialized supervision services to offenders convicted in Bucks County of domestic violence related offenses and sentenced to be supervised by this D.V. protocol.

Batterers will be seen more intensely and victim/survivors will, if they choose, will be contacted for their input. Our involvement with the batterer will be for the length of his or her sentence. A primary goal of the protocol is sustained non-violent behavior beyond the period of our client's sentences . Therefore, our intervention will encourage development of client support systems for pro-social and non-violent behavior and victim support systems for protection and empowerment. These support systems will not be dependent upon the PO or dependent upon supervision by our department.

Q. How can I contact my probation/parole officer? What if I can't wait to talk to him/her?

A. You can talk to the Officer's Supervisor during normal working hours.
However, if this is an emergency you need to call the police at 911.

If you are the victim, there are services available free of charge through A Womans Place. In addition, the Bucks County Violence Prevention Resource Directory has information and phone numbers as well.
